How 'bout upping the ante with 24 complete place settings around a giant rectangular table? Yeah, that'd do it.

Mythbusted
Mythbusters tried this and came to the conclusion that it was not possible. They were able to recreate the effect by putting a sheet of plastic between the table cloth and the settings.
